Hey there kiddo's! I know, I know, it's been way too long since I actually updated anything. But I do have some small news and stuff going on, lately I've been in a bit of a slum with school and work but I am glad to say that I finally have a job again. However I won't be continuing school this fall until next year most likely, at this point in my life I'm not sure what I want to do or need to do. I was previously in a New Media program and my university and I absolutely loved it, there has just been so much going on and now I'm really questioning my choices. I've had so many things I've wanted to be growing up in the recent years ranging from being a chef, a concept artist/illustrator, a programmer, a hair/make-up stylist, and so forth. I've always had a goal of being a tattoo artist through all of that but only now have I really wanted to take things more seriously, I desperately want to be able to support myself and get my own place and all that jazz but I'm just unsure of how to approach it. Finishing my studies and becoming a designer/illustrator seems to be the best course of action as it would most likely secure my financial status but I just don't want to be holed up in this oil city designing construction worker characters and making pieces that wont satisfy me artistically and creatively. Right now I'm just focusing on working and saving money so I won't have to worry about expenses for when and If I do go back to school.

Anyways, sorry for the rambling; I promised you guys a post Otafest update and possible Etsy shop opening! Okay so it's been well over a month since Otafest and in all honesty not much actually happened? I mean I made some stuff but because my computer was corrupted I lost several months worth of work and had to cram as many things as I could into just under a week before. I ended up having 3 posters one of which was an oldie, I made 2 sets of keychains/stickers; one of some diverse booty, and some Sailor Moon Pendants. They definitely weren't as popular as I'd expect but that also had to do with the serious competition I had with a fantastic steampunk jewellery vendor right next to us and another amazing artist. Or it could've been how messy our setup was -_-'. Although my booty collection was pretty popular, everyone really seemed to enjoy that and ended up buying them. We also made a Gashapon machine that was pretty nifty and drew a lot of people in, although it was a tad too large and roughly done..but we're likely going to make another one for next year when my friend and I get a larger table. Out of everything I had I'm super greatful that I even got any commissions which really made my Otafest and helped me level out the costs.

I believe the most popular items which really helped me pay everything back were my watercolour pieces, I had time over the year and made various watercolour pieces which I displayed for examples but also because I decided that selling one of a kind pieces would be kinda cool and really gave an awesome connection between me and my customers. I had also displayed one of my most prized moleskin sketchbook out for sketch commission examples which made a world of difference, but almost regrettably I gave that sketchbook to one of my all time favourite musicians 'Daniela Andrade'. Sometimes I regret giving her that book but other times I'm really happy I did because she was such an amazing inspiration to me and I wouldn't have grown so much as an artist if it weren't for her music. The choice to give her the sketchbook was beyond an impulse decision, I was so riled up in meeting her and giving it to her that in the few hours of thinking about it before never did it once cross my mind to take photos of the pieces inside to keep for display or reference. In the end what's done is done and I'm super glad I gave that to her.

Okay woah I went on another tangent there (woops), in other news I will be attending Otafest Aurora come this November if I can secure a table and for my etsy store I will likely have it all setup and ready to go by the end of Aurora! That's really all for now kids! Bye!!!
